Volunteering with Worktree

I really enjoyed my first volunteering session with Worktree, a Milton Keynes based organisation who help children in schools learn about the world of work. I attended my first career workout at St Pauls Catholic school and found it so worthwhile.

Sitting in the large hall, small groups of Year 9 pupils come to meet you and ask you about your own experiences in work, and then they change and move on after 6 minutes. Speed mentoring!

The pupils were encouraged at each change over to think of work from different angles and to ask different questions of their guests. I was asked about my biggest challenges, what it was like to be starting a new business and what top tips I had for interviews.

The session was just an hour, and I am already signed up to my next one. If you are interested click on the link below to register.
